Henfield man struck by a train in Hassocks identified


A man who was struck and killed by a train in Hassocks last week has been identified.

A British Transport Police spokesman (BTP) said: “I can confirm that the man who died after being struck by a train at Hassocks railway station on Monday, April 7, was Robert Jeremy Cave, aged 49, of London Road, Henfield, West Sussex.

“The incident, which was reported to BTP just after 2pm is being treated as non-suspicious.

“Officers are assisting in the preparation of a report for the coroner.”

The train involved was a Brighton to Bedford service.
