Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra visited charity Sightsavers, in Haywards Heath, today.
The first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, who is President of the charity, was welcomed to the branch in Perrymount Road at 2.30pm, by Dr Caroline Harper, Sightsavers CEO, and Martin Dinham, vice chairman,
Staff at the branch were introduced and they told her about the charity’s work protecting and restoring sight in developing countries and supporting people to lead more independent lives.
This year the charity is marking its 65th anniversary.
Harry Goring, vice lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex, Denise Patterson, the High Sheriff of West Sussex and councillor Peter Reed, chairman of Mid Sussex District Council, also attended.
