MAKE TIME FOR MACMILLAN for coffee on Friday 25th September from 10am to 12 noon at The Bowls Club, South Avenue. Go along and meet friends old and new. Enjoy delicious home made cake and browse the various stalls knowing that you are giving your support to this very worthy cause. With the help of all who participate, they can build on the growing successes of past years fundraising in Hurst. The entrance fee of £3 includes tea/coffee and cake. Children 50p to include drink and biscuit. There is a warm welcome to everyone so please join them if you can.

HURSTPIERPOINT HISTORICAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY starts its new season off on Friday 25th September with a talk about A Sussex Farm in the 1950s, an illustrated presentation by Ian Everest, a Sussex local history speaker. Be amazed by how much agriculture has changed in 60 years. All welcome, non members £3. At the Guide HQ in Trinity Road at 7.45pm.

COFFEE MORNING Free Admission to an Organ Recital by Neil Morris, Church Organist, on Saturday 26th September at 10.45 am. at Holy Trinity Church. Neil will perform three pieces from popular orchestral, military and piano music, as part of the 10am - 12 noon Coffee Morning. There will be a variety of stalls offering coffee, cakes, cards, crafts, and good as new throughout the morning. Everyone welcome.

AUTUMN SHOW The Horticultural Society will be holding its Autumn Show at 2.15pm on Saturday 26th September in the Village Centre. Giant chrysanthemums and dahlias, an abundance of other flowers, the pick of the vegetable harvest, home baking and children’s exhibits. Tea and home made cakes all afternoon, a raffle and at the end of the show is an auction of produce. Entry and exhibiting is free. Pick up a schedule from Gibsons in the High Street for more information.

WALK BY MID SUSSEX RAMBLERS A circuit of 5 miles to the south of the village via Danny, Wolstonbury Hill and Randolph’s Farm, on Saturday 26th September starting at 2.30pm at Trinity Road car park. Contact Alison 01273 833794

HURSTPIERPOINT MUSEUM AND HERITAGE GROUP has a new exhibition in the foyer of the Village Centre, about the Pink Flamingos FC or Hurst’s other football club. They started as a 6 a side team formed by a group of friends at Downlands School eight years ago and have grown from strength to strength to a successful 11 a side Sunday League team. Do go along and have a look at the display when you are passing, or visiting the library or Parish Offices, the foyer being open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am to 1.30pm, Thursdays and Fridays 9am to 5pm with Saturdays 9am to 1pm.
