Firstly a very Happy New Year to all reading this column-the first in 2016.

Meet your local Councillors. On Saturday 16 January from 11-11.45 am you can join councillors in the King Edward Hall to discuss local issues. County Councillor Christine Field and 3 District Councillors will be present to hear any concerns and answer questions. On the same day there will be 2 Neighbourhood Plan Pop-in Sessions, one in the Millennium Centre, Scaynes Hill from 10-12 noon and the second in the King Edward Hall from 2-4pm. A most useful way to revise your knowledge of the Plan before voting on it in the Referendum on January 28.(Perhaps even to see the Plan for the first time although you can find it on the Mid- Sussex District Council Website! )
A new WI group? There will be a meeting on Tuesday 19 January in the King Edward Hall at 2.30pm with the aim of forming a new WI in Lindfield. Do come along and find out about what the WI can offer you. If you phone Yvonne on 01444 483682 she can tell you more before the meeting and you can put your name down on the list of those interested in case you can’t attend on the 19th.
Lindfield Country Market. This will resume on Thursday 21 January in the King Edward Hall from 10-11am. The market will then be open every Thursday and will have the usual super cakes, savouries and craft items. Even in winter there are usually plants to buy at really good prices. Tea/coffee is served and it’s a great place to meet a friend and have a natter!
Film Show. The first film this year will be “Suffragette” and will be shown on Thursday 21 January at 7.45pm in the King Edward Hall. ( Doors open 7.30pm.) For £6 you not only get to see a great film but refreshments are served in the interval. Tickets are already on sale at Tufnells in the High Street.
