12-year-old girl has phone stolen in Haywards Heath
Police are appealing for information after a girl and her dog were threatened in the Franklands Village estate in Haywards Heath.
At around 6pm on Saturday, March 16, a 12-year-old girl was walking along Gravelye Lane towards Frankton Avenue when a man approached her and demanded her mobile phone and threatened to harm her dog.
The victim handed over her phone and the man ran in the direction of the Franklands Village Social Club.
The man is described as around 19, white and wearing dark coloured hooded top and trousers.
Detective constable Glenn Fisk said: “Did you see this man in the area at the time or have you noticed a son or brother unexpectedly with a new phone. This is particularly cowardly as he decided to pick on a 12-year-old girl out walking her dog. If you have any information please contact police on 101 quoting serial 1216 of 16/3.”
