Motorists are being warned of more overnight closures of the north and the southbound carriageways of the A23.

Roadworks are required and are now in place for the main engineering works to widen and upgrade the road, which started last July and will continue until autumn 2014.

Two lanes remain open in both directions at most times with occasional lane closures overnight and a 40mph speed limit enforced by cameras to ensure safety.

The overnight closures are required mainly for adjusting the traffic management between different phases of construction.
