Appeal for tough athletes to help bereaved children
Winston’s Wish, the leading childhood bereavement charity, has been chosen as a charity partner for Warrior Run – a 6km extreme obstacle dash through streams, woodland, grass and road terrain.
The event is billed as a test of strength, stamina and agility with participants being encouraged to raise funds for Winston’s Wish which has eight free places to give away to anyone who would like to take part and can commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £100.
Warrior Run director Lloyd Peacock said he had chosen Winston’s Wish as the race’s charity partner after hearing about the fantastic work it did not only supporting bereaved children, but their families as well.
Community and events fundraiser for Winston’s Wish Louise Brown thanked Warrior Run for its generous support. She said: “We will of course be there on the day to support all our runners and cheer them on as they cross the finish line.
“All proceeds from the challenge will go directly to help pay for much-needed services to support bereaved children and their families in West Sussex.”
For more information about the run, which is held at Qleisure in Albourne on April 28, and also about how you can sign up, go to www.winstonswish.org.uk or call Louise on 01403 211030.
