Astley, Hadley, Fry and Carlisle deliver scorcher at Borde Hill gig

EIGHTIES stars wowed the Summer Sessions crowd at Borde Hill Gardens Haywards Heath.

Shrugging off their disappointment at the late pull-out through illness of Go West the sun-kissed crowd got in the mood early with a well received opening set from Belinda Carlisle.

From then on it was hits and good vibes all the way.

Rick Astley, striking a great rapport with the swaying crowd, Martyn Fry, leading romantics ABC, and Tony Hadley, winning great applause for Spandau Ballet hits like True as well as other material got the crowd into the groove, backed by a punchy band.

By the time the picnics had been stowed away after the dining and dancing on Saturday evening (July 3) Hadley was was cappng a glorious evening of fun and nostalgia with Spandeau's anthem Gold.
