Balloon release to remember Lauren
Over 150 friends and family gathered to remember Lauren Silverlock with a balloon release and coffee morning.
Lauren passed away suddenly in December aged nine. She was a pupil at London Meed Community Primary school, for four years and more recently at Woodland Meed in Chanctonbury Road, Burgess Hill.
The event held in St John’s Park was organised by friends from London Meed who wanted to give her classmates an opportunity to celebrate her life.
Each child released a balloon with a personal message which Lauren’s parents are hoping will be returned once they reach their final destination.
Lauren’s mum, Louise Silverlock said: “It was a perfect way to remember Lauren and I’d like to thank all those who made our day so special.”

The event raised over ן£380, which will go towards a memorial at London Meed and the remainder to the charity being set up in Lauren’s memory. The charity will provide children with disabilities access hydrotherapy on a regular basis.
Lauren had cerebral palsy which meant she was confined to a wheelchair for a large part of her life. She benefited from hydrotherapy sessions which allowed her to enjoy movement and independence, while water resistance strengthened her muscles.
