Blue light theft

A BLUE light has been stolen from the roof of a response vehicle used for medical emergencies.

The theft occurred when a paramedic was attending an emergency call in Manor Rd, Burgess Hill at approximately 7pm yesterday (November 26).

Security management specialist with the South East Coast Ambulance Service, David Dixon said: "These actions are irresponsible and endanger the lives of patients as the paramedic would not be able to respond to potentially life-threatening emergencies on blue lights.

"If anyone has any information we'd ask them to contact police immediately. Whoever is responsible for the theft needs to realise the seriousness of their actions."

Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1527 of 26 November. To report crime anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
