Mums, dads and children stretched, jumped, lunged and turned circles to support fitness coach Maxine Hayes’ charity bootcamp.
The event was held at Lindfield School where one of the pupils, seven-year-old Ryan Banbury, suffers from spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
The school’s head teacher Bob White and his staff supported the event which Maxine wanted to stage after helping Ryan’s mum, Natalie, lose weight.
The afternoon included face-painting, cup cake decorating, nail painting and crafts and raised money for the Sussex Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SASBAH).
Maxine said: “It went really, really well and so far we have managed to raise £2,300 for SASBAH.
“I was very pleased that about 25 or so people who turned up stayed for the whole four hours while others popped in to do one or two things. We had an adults’ boot camp and a kiddies’ one. Most people took part in the other activities as well as the exercise sessions.”
Maxine, who runs her own company called Potential Personal Training, thanked Mr White and the school for its support and said SASBAH presented the head teacher with its annual “star award” for his support.
A website page has been set up for SASBAH at Just giving page http://www.justgiving.com/sasbah-bootcamp
