A free Young Carers Fun Afternoon will be held during half-term at Park Centre in Burgess Hill on February 19.

This event is for young carers aged 6-11 years living in the Burgess Hill area.

For information about future activities and to book your place contact Jennifer O’Grady on 01444 238207 or email Jennifer@burgesshill.gov.uk.

Town Mayor of Burgess Hill, Chris Thomas-Atkin, said: “The role of young carers tends to be overlooked but the success of previous young carers events shows there is a real need. I am proud that the Town Council plays a part in organising the fun days and we will continue to provide our support.”

Young carers are children and young people who help look after a member of the family who is sick, disabled or has mental health problems, or is misusing drugs or alcohol. The event is organised by the Young Carers Partnership made up of several organisations.
