Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) is giving people the chance to have their say on the location of permanent Gypsy and Traveller sites in Mid Sussex.
MSDC met on July 23 to formally agree that a six week public consultation will be held from Friday August 8 until Friday September 19 on possible locations for permanent Gypsy and Traveller sites.
The council has identified a need for 34 additional pitches for gypsies and travellers between now and 2031.
After assessing more than 160 possible sites, two preferred locations have been identified: north Burgess Hill, also known as the Northern Arc, and Imberhorne Lane, East Grinstead.
The Council will be obtaining the views of councils, planning authorities, the Environment Agency, residents’ associations, housing associations, environmental groups and the traveller community.
The final decision will be made by an Independent Planning Inspector following a public examination in May 2015.
