Chance to beat the bulge

Mid Sussex Wellbeing team is rolling out its counterweight programme in a bid to help residents lose weight.

The courses are run by the nutritional experts at Health Champions Training and offer a structured weight management programme that helps people to regain control of their weight by making simple changes to eating habits.

The pilot started in September with 11 people losing more than 120lbs.

“The counterweight programme has a proven track record of helping people to lose weight and keep it off,” said Cllr Christopher Snowling, cabinet member for health and community.

“If you’ve been advised that your Body Mass Index (BMI) is too high or your weight is causing you concern then counterweight could be the programme for you.”

It is free of charge and aims to help people lose five to 10 per cent of their weight.
