A couple have raised more than £2,000 by taking on a 20-day cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Hayley Plummer, 25, and Iain Topping, 30, of Gordon Road, Haywards Heath set off on their journey on June 14 and returned on July 3,
Hayley attended Southway School and Oakmeeds in Burgess Hill and is now a personal trainer with The Performance Project in Haywards Heath and Iain works for British Airways Holidays at Gatwick.
They said this was a personal challenge for them both and one that they were proud to have completed within their target time of 20 days.
They raised funds for Alzheimers Society for people with dementia, and the UK Stem Cell Foundation which is the only UK medical research charity devoted solely to raising funds for stem cell projects.
They travelled a total of 1123 miles, averaging between 60 and 70 miles per day.
This allowed them time to visit a few attractions on the way, including Boscastle, Cheddar Gorge, Tintern Abbey, Lake Windermere and Loch Ness.
