Cuckfield man in Tower Bridge stunt

Visit England Tourism Week.

Visit England Tourism Week.

Cuckfield resident David Curtis-Brignell literally stopped the traffic in central London last week when Tower Bridge was opened for the official launch of English Tourism Week.

David (pictured far left) is chairman of VisitEngland’s English Tourism Week and was joined by Dame Judith Mayhew Jones, chairman of London and Partners, Tourism Minister Hugh Robertson MP, and VisitEngland chairman Penny, Viscountess Cobham.

Some 500 events are staged across the country during English Tourism Week, which runs from March 16 to 24, ranging from special events in tourism attractions and businesses, conferences and WorldHost training days, a reception in the House of Commons, MP visits and consumer promotions and offers.

A number of destinations run “Big Weekends” where local residents can get to know attractions on their doorstep while FarmStay UK is celebrating its own 30th anniversary with a “big breakfast”.
