Ditchling Beacon Road was closed early this morning (Monday) as snow hit Mid Sussex.

Police shut the road between Brighton and Ditchling at about 8am after an accident.

More than 100,000 people woke to a sprinkle of snow this morning, and just after 7.30 a fresh fall began that looked like it might develop into a thicker covering as temperatures hovered on or below zero, made to feel colder by wind.
