Drivers warned of congestion around Cuckfield school

Parents are being warned to steer clear of a busy main road near Mid Sussex’s biggest school on Thursday.

West Sussex County Council has warned that roadworks are scheduled to take place in Broad Street, Cuckfield, on November 29.

The work will be in the area around 1,500- pupil Warden Park Academy which is always heavily congested at school times due to parents as well as dozens of public and private buses and coaches picking up and dropping off children.

The school said today: “West Sussex County Council have advised us that they will be carrying out road works in Broad Street (at the bottom of the school drive) this Thursday, 29 November 2012 and that traffic controls will be in operation all day.

“To avoid delays and reduce congestion if at all possible please try to avoid driving to the school site on this day.”
