A charity hosted an open day yesterday to launch its new service for people with learning disabilities.
Signposts (Mid Sussex), a charity that supports people with learning disabilities and their families and carers, hosted its open day at the Old Post Office Resource Centre, Station Road, Burgess Hill, on July 21.
The event provided a raffle, arts, crafts, games, tea, cake and information about the charity’s services. It was held, in part, to launch the charity’s new ‘My Network’ service which is now available throughout West Sussex.
My Network supports adults with learning disabilities who live independently or with family.
It is a drop-in service to help with things like: using computers, paying bills, healthy eating, handling money, making appointments, health questions, making friends, finding things to do, arts and crafts, and more.
Signposts has a Friday afternoon club for people over 55. The charity can also help people link up with other groups to find volunteering opportunities or work, receive help at home, or for advocacy.
Signposts is open to drop-in Mondays and Fridays from 10am to 3.30pm in Burgess Hill and on Tuesdays from 11.30am to 3pm at The Yews, Boltro Road, Haywards Heath.
