A family from Cuckfield raised £13k with a 24-hour trek challenge in memory of their wife, mother and grandmother.
The Helme family took on the ‘Three Peaks 24-hour Challenge’, in support of St Peter & St James Hospice.
The family of 10 took on the feat in memory of Pauline Helme who passed away earlier this year at the hospice.
Pauline’s sons and grandchildren.
Pauline’s husband Tony, son Stephen and her other children and grandchildren all took part.
The challenge began at 5pm on July 25 with an ascent up Ben Nevis. They reached the mountain bottom at 9.50pm, They arrived at Scafell Pike in total darkness at 3.45am and set off with only head torches to guide the way.
The walkers arrived at the top of Scafell just in time to watch the sunrise. The set off up Mt Snowdon at 2pm and they had to jog to pass the finish line together with just 8 minutes to spare.
