Manufacturing firm Flowserve, which has a base in Burrell Road, Haywards Heath, is seeking planning permission to construction a spray painting booth and a blasting cleaning booth within its premises.
The district council has received 10 letters of representation from neighbours who are worried about addtional noise, flues, smell and impact on the environment.
The American firm Flowerve is a world leader in the manufacture of industrial and environmental machinery such as value, seals and pumps.
District councillors are being recommended to grant planning permission at their meeting on Thursday evening at 7pm, to enable the company to bring work inhouse, proving four additonal full-time jobs.
With conditions for sound proofing and odour control, officers say there will be no harm to the environment.
