A fun day is being planned for all at Handcross on Saturday (6 July).

There is something for everyone, organisers of the Handcross Fun Day say.

Take it easy in the beer tent with a burger, or get up and Zumba. Learn about flyfishing or peruse the classic cars. There’s a funfair, face painting and fire engine rides.

There are craft stalls and quizzes while the more traditional can enjoy the Dutch organ and a cup of tea in the pavilion.

You can find out more about local community projects from the Handcross Parish Council and get your bikes security marked by Sussex police.

The Grand Prize Draw is sure to be major highlight as it is every year with thanks to our sponsors who provide a brilliant range of prizes. Make sure you get your tickets early. This year you can win a flight in a light aircraft, vouchers for a pedicure, or a head massage or a range of meals for two – see the programme for the full list of prizes and generous sponsors. The top prize of £100 cash will no doubt come in handy, too.

The event is in Handcross village recreation ground on Saturday from noon to 4pm.

This is a great mixture of the traditional and fun and has been organised with the whole family involved including the dog!

Entry to the dog show is by completion of a form and payment of a nominal fee. Participant lists are closed 20 minutes before commencement
