Golfers' fundraising year is boost for children's hospice
GOLFERS have given a boost to a centre caring for youngsters facing a short life because of serious conditions.
Players at Hassocks Golf Club have given Chestnut Tree House, the only children's hospice in Sussex, 7,500.
After a year's fundraising activities, culminating in Captain's Charity Day, they handed a cheque to Tracy Bowdery, Chestnut Tree House community fundraiser.
The charity looks after local children and young people with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
Club captain Martin Range, seniors captain Mike Haselip and ladies captain Ann Chard led the members in their fund-raising efforts.
Martin Range added: "We loved the opportunity to help local children and their families at Chestnut Tree House and hope that our donation makes a difference."
