Haywards Heath Priory restaurant lease still available

The lease for the former Priory Carvery restaurant in Haywards Heath is still up for sale.

Christie and Co announced back in August 2012 that the former bar, function room, restaurant and ancillary areas in Syresham Gardens had been put up for sale, either as a selection or as a whole depending on the purchaser’s requirements. It had been instructed to market The Priory for sale with offers invited for the leasehold interest.

Robert Cockayne, the negotiator at Christie and Co who is handling the sale, said: “There has been a good level of interest into the site, however with Christmas and New Year being a very busy time for the most likely buyers, experienced operators, interest in restaurant units tends to not pick up again until January.”

The Priory was founded by the English Convent at Bruges in 1896. The main chapel building, which houses the restaurant, was completed in 1897.
