St Catherine’s Hospice wants families to hop to it and get involved it its Bunny Run to raise funds for the charity.

Sponsored by the Yorkshire Building Society in Haywards Heath, the run will take place at Borde Hill Garden in the town.

On Sunday, March 24 there will be Easter-themed activities and a guest appearance from Bertie the Bunny.

The course is approximately three kilometres and you can hop, skip, run, jog or walk.

Money raised will help support the charity which is celebrating 30 years of caring for local people with terminal illnesses.

Jen Wickham, events fundraiser for St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Our new Bunny Run will be a fabulous fundraiser not to miss.

“We’re proud to have been caring for people across Mid Sussex since the early 1980s and this event is a great new way for families to show their support for us.

“Borde Hill Garden in Haywards Heath is a lovely location and however you choose to complete the 3km course – walking, running or hopping – we’ll give you a pair of bunny ears, so you look the part at the start, and Easter treats to welcome you in at the finish.”

Tim Dock, assistant branch manager at the Yorkshire Building Society in Haywards Heath, said: “St Catherine’s Hospice has always been a popular charity with our customers in the Mid Sussex area and we are happy to take this opportunity to support a fantastic local good cause which our members feel strongly about.

“Supporting good causes around the UK strengthens our commitment to local communities and demonstrates that we are a secure mutual alternative to high street banks.”

Adult entries are £10 and under-16s £5. You can sign up online at www.stch.org.uk/bunnyrun or by calling Jen Wickham on 01293 447364.

You can also pick up an entry form or register at the till in your local St Catherine’s Hospice shop on The Broadway, Haywards Heath; Church Road, Burgess Hill or Orion Parade, Hassocks. Also at Yorkshire Building Society branches in South Road, Haywards Heath and Church Walk, Burgess Hill.
