WORSHIPPERS will meet at their new £3.5million church for the first time on Sunday.
The King’s Church Mid-Sussex has moved to the Burgess Hill Industrial Estate after its final meeting at Haywards Heath’s Clair Hall last Sunday.
The church says as well as meetings it intends to run youth work, parent and toddler groups, debt and money advice, and marriage and parent enhancement courses at the new centre.
Jim Partridge, who leads The King’s Church Mid-Sussex, says: “Our passion is to serve the local community and have a positive impact on society.
“We run a range of activities in Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and the surrounding villages that seek to serve and build up the community, and demonstrate the heart of the Christian Faith.”
The church has about 400 members, having started 35 years ago with only a few and meeting at a hosue.
This Sunday’s service starts at 10.30am.
Mr Partridge said: “We are excited about our new venue, which will have a 500-seater auditorium, a large foyer with a café area, ample space for parking and meeting rooms. The building is here to serve the community.”
