Gold jewellery worth more than £4,000 was stolen from a Burgess Hill home last month.

Between 8.25am and 2.05pm on Monday June 16, a home in Maple Drive was broken into.

Cash including a quantity of Swedish krona and euros was taken along with jewellery.

Detective Constable John Hord said: “The victims have lived at this address for many years and never had any issues but are now traumatised by the fact that a stranger has broken into their home and stolen their jewellery, much of which has been in the family for many years.

“They have been able to provide a number of photos of the stolen items which I would ask the public to look at.

“If you have seen any of these items since June 16 or been offered them for sale, please contact us.”

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting serial 744 of 16/6, or by sending an email to 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk

Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
