Kingsley Green picnic

Members of the Kingsley Green Society were invited to take a picnic to the lake in the grounds of Vernon Ellis' home and around 70 residents of the hamlet responded.

The society committee, headed by James and Louise Stevenson, and Jo Mackay, had organised traditional sports day games in which everyone took part. Running races, sack races, egg and spoon, and three-legged races featured.

The awards ceremony took place on a podium built for the occasion where gold medals were presented to race winners and certificates to the runners-up.
