Cats in Mid Sussex might be able to enjoy a little slice of luxury if plans for a cat hotel in Haywards Heath are approved.

Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel has submitted a proposal for seven bespoke cat suites to form Longcroft Haywards Heath in Scaynes Hill Road, Lindfield.

Pampered kitties would be able to enjoy wrought iron design cat beds, soft pillows and gourmet ‘A La Cat’ menu served on bone china, along with mood music and personal grooming sessions.

Founder and owner of Longcroft Abi Purser said: “We hope it won’t be long before we can bring our award-winning hotel to cat owners in the Haywards Heath area.

“We have a perfect franchisee who will run the business from their home. As it is a far cry from just a feeding and cleaning exercise we only have seven suites so we can provide a really personal service for our feline guests.”

Once the franchisee came forward Abi paid a visit to Haywards Heath to see if the area was right for Longcroft.

“I love Haywards Heath, the area, the people. There is a community feel, with lots of nice bespoke and independent shops. It is relatively close to Brighton and it is just a lovely place and I think the business would do well here,” she said.

Abi added that she was ‘excited’ about the prospect of coming to the town, and thinks it is ‘fabulous’.

If the plans are approved the hotel would possibly open early next year, and Abi is planning to hold an open day so that local people can have a look around and see what they do.

She added that the hotel works on an appointment only basis so there wouldn’t be lots of cars coming and going at all hours.

The company launched in 2010 and has several franchises across London and the South East.

Abi added: “I would like to ask the Haywards Heath community to vote for us by logging onto www.longcroftcathotel.co.uk and click ‘Vote for us’ if we win the top 10k prize I’ll donate £500 to Cats Protection.
