Mid Sussex Tories, one party, one voice

Mid Sussex Conservative councillors are speaking with one voice, literally.

The party’s newsletter ‘in touch’ has been widely distributed across the district but eagle-eyed observers could be concerned an ‘Orwellian’ thought police has infiltrated the local Tory group.

The main story on the free sheet celebrates the new Mid Sussex leisure contract going to DC Leisure.

In Burgess Hill Meeds Ward councillor Anne Jones says: “This is an excellent result for Burgess Hill residents as we have been able to negotiate enlarged gyms, improved facilities and free swimming for under 8s, all at no cost to the tax payer.”

On a separate free sheet councillor Ian Simpson seems to agree with Mrs Jones - in fact he has reportedly said exactly the same as Mrs Jones, verbatim.

“This is an excellent result for Burgess Hill residents as we have been able to negotiate enlarged gyms, improved facilities and free swimming for under 8s, all at no cost to the tax payer,” he says.

Meanwhile, in Haywards Heath, Lucastes & Bolnore councillor Mims Davies takes a slightly different perspective, but only just.

She says: “This is an excellent result for Haywards Heath residents as we have been able to negotiate enlarged gyms, improved facilities and free swimming for under 8s, all at no cost to the tax payer.”

What has your local Conservative councillor reportedly said?
