Paris Hilton picks former Mid Sussex student as 'best friend'
HOLLYWOOD star Paris Hilton has chosen a former Mid Sussex schoolboy as her best pal.
Samuel Hextall, 19, was picked by Paris from three contestants in a final challenge in the USA on the ITV2 programme Paris Hilton's British Best Friends.
After a visit to the UK by Paris, the trio had visited her Los Angeles home and been taken on various treats that were also tests of potential friendship.
Samuel's party-going night out in Vegas with Paris was a disaster because someone had forgotten he was underage and he was filmed seeing the night sights alone.
But he won more than enough consolation with a return ticket to visit Paris and her number on his mobile telephone so they can keep in touch.
Samuel's family lived at Handcross and Cuckfield before moving to Burgess Hill about two years ago.
Samuel, who attended Warninglid Primary and Warden Park School at Cuckfield, said: "She is an iconic blonde. She is comparable to Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, definitely."
