Pointing the way to Fishbourne

A water company has been taking steps to help Fishbourne Roman Palace while major improvement works take place.

Southern Water has installed 52 road signs to help direct visitors to the palace and maintain visitor numbers while works take place in Salthill Road.

The company is carrying out a 1.5m project to help prevent flooding and pollution in the area. Work includes increasing the size of the sewer network and upgrading a pumping station.

Contractors toured a five-mile diversion route with palace director Christine Medlock and Councillor Louise Goldsmith to ensure signage was correct and easy to understand.
