Customers of Burgess Hill’s modernised town centre post office may now use it on Saturday afternoons.
The opening hours have been extended into the afternoon from the previous 12.30 closure time on Saturdays.
The post office is now open-plan amd has added a mortgage service.
MP for Mid Sussex constituency Nicholas Soames, who lives near Handcross, peformed a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the re-opening on Friday of last week. He is pictured with Kazem Hossini, the sub-postmaster.
Mr Soames said: “It looks very modern and professional. It is a major transformation. The open-plan counters make it far easier for customers and staff to talk to each other. This post office is vital to the local community and I am confident the improvements will be warmly welcomed by my constituents. Opening on Saturday afternoon will be very convenient for customers to do their Post Office transactions.
