Pupils are transported back to 1939
Pupils at Albourne Primary School were transported back to 1939 when hundreds of children were evacuated from London to Mid Sussex.
In a week of immersive activities, pupils who are studying World War Two in years five and six pretended to be evacuees. They dressed for the part, went on an imaginary train journey to the countryside and carried ID cards and gas mask boxes. They also enjoyed chatting to adults who had been evacuated in the war.
