Rail delays after bridge struck by vehicle again

Rail services between Horsham and Three Bridges have been delayed after a bridge was struck by a vehicle for the second time in just over a week.

Southern Rail has said all lines were blocked between the two stations after the bridge outside Three Bridges station in Williams Way was hit by vehicle earlier this morning (Thursday February 11).

All services running through the station have been delayed by up to 30 minutes and the rail service provider has said some services could be cancelled at short notice.

Network Rail engineers, who are responsible for maintaining railway bridge across the UK, were sent to inspect the damage.

All lines have now been re-open and delays are expected to last until 11.30am.

Last Tuesday, February 2, services were also delayed by more than 20 minutes after a lorry hit the same bridge at around 11.30am.
