A relief road around Haywards Heath should be complete a year ahead of schedule thanks to planning permission for 24-hour roadworks.
The last section of the long-awaited new road has been estimated to open on July 28 after Mid Sussex District Council gave developer Crest Nicholson permission to work day and night between July 25 and 28.
The permission was granted on Friday (May 30).
Crest’s senior project manager Tim Haines, said at the time of the application: “There will obviously be some noise if we undertake 24 hour working. We will, however, do everything we can to minimise the noise and will try and keep the very noisy operations to the daytime periods.”
