Revamp for town council’s volunteer grant applications

Haywards Heath Town Council has revamped and adopted a new voluntary and community group grant application pack.

It is hoped that it will now be easier for local groups to apply for a small grant for projects in the town that are of benefit to the local community.

Cllr Jonathan Ash-Edwards, chair of the council’s policy and finance committee said, “For many community groups, a small grant can be the difference between whether or not a project goes ahead.

“The town council is committed to supporting community-led initiatives and we’re encouraging local organisations who haven’t applied before to contact us to see what help is available”.

Groups of any size can apply for a grant, providing they have an elected committee, a bank account and a governing document.

The new application pack can be downloaded from the council’s website - www.
haywardsheath.gov.uk - and includes full guidance notes and application deadline dates, one of which being February 18.

Applicants are advised to contact that council to discuss their project before submitting an application.
