Parking, speed and other road safety issues affecting Haywards Heath and its surrounding villages will be on the agenda when county representatives meet on Tuesday (September 24).
The Central Mid Sussex County Local Committee meets at Haywards Heath Library on Tuesday at 7pm and members of the public are invited to attend.
Among items on the agenda is the list of roads where councillors and members of the public believe action needs to be taken to reduce speed or stop on-street parking as well as other safety issues.
The committee will discuss which problem areas it thinks should be given the highest priority and flagged up for funding if and when it becomes available.
Schemes on the list include speeding in America Lane, Haywards Heath; a crossing outside Sainsbury’s in Wivelsfield Road, Haywards Heath; crossing facilities and footpaths on the new Haywards Heath bypass; commuter parking in Newlands, Balcombe, and speeding in Paddockhurst Road, Balcombe; speeding in Gravelye Lane, Lindfield, and concerns about accident numbers in High Beech Lane, Lindfield; improvements to a cycle track in Scaynes Hill; speeding on entrance to Cuckfield from Cuckfield Park; speed worries in Lindfield Road, Ansty; lack of a footpath and lighting by the bus stop on A272 in Ansty, and safety of the junction of B2036 and Cuckfield Road, Ansty.
The CLC meeting also includes a “Talk with Us” open forum when members of the public can raise concerns. Complex issues should be submitted in writing several days before the meeting by contacting the committee clerk on 03302 222551 or email Suzanne.email@example.com
