Robots are set to descend on Burgess Hill on April 26 and 27 as they converge on The Triangle, Triangle Way, ready for a series of battles.

Inspired by the hit TV show Robot Wars, Robots Live has given a new lease of life to robots Behemoth, Big Nipper, Terror Hurtz and Storm II by hosting live events across the country.

Stuart Smith, Freedom Leisure general manager, said: “Burgess Hill had better brace itself for the invasion of the robots, we’re ready for them here at The Triangle.

“Fans of Robot Wars are in for a treat and the clash of these metal giants will be a spectacle for everyone. “

Robots from all over Europe will be attend the event including TV favourites Bigger Brother, Behemoth and Tornado.

Mr Smith added: “This event will draw crowds from further afield, so I would recommend people book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment,”

Weighing between 100kg and 1000kg each, these robots each have unique capabilities that they bring into play to win their war.

One to watch this year is Goliath with its powerful crushing claw and deadly spinning disc.

Another one to watch is veteran of Robot Wars Brighton based Big Brother.

Smaller robots weighing around 13kg will also be on show, with between four and 18 taking part in one fight.

Humanoid robots will interact with the audience members who will be singled out and exterminated by a Dalek.

The robots will come to blows in a purpose-built arena fitted with clear, bullet proof and robot proof polycarbonate safety screens.
