Air ambulance life savers were given a boost by customers and staff at Sainsbury’s in Haywards Heath.
During a fund-raising morning at the Bannister Way store they raised money by selling secondhand books.
The store has raised hundreds of pounds over the past year or more and last week held a sale of books donated by customers.
Air ambulance volunteers also collected money and sold memorabilia at a stall in the car park.
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance was chosen by customers as the charity they wanted to support after a little girl from Lindfield was saved by the service when she choked on a toy dog.
