More falls of snow hit Mid Sussex this morning. (Sunday)

They were expected to last most of the day, and presented new challenges to organisers of buses, trains, schools, and delivery services.

But they also gave children to top up snowmen or build new ones, like snowman George pictured, as some people enjoyed the snow.

Hundreds walked the South Downs, enjoying the beautiful scene across the Weald, in calmer spells, and many people slid down the slopes of the South Downs.

People using Gatwick were advised to contact their airlines as the snow looked set for most of the day.
