Sounds of the Caribbean at Haslemere
Haslemere school pupils got in the mood for summer when they took part in a Caribbean musical workshop held at the school.
The St Ives youngsters were played well-known songs and encouraged to dance and sing along to the music as well as having a chance at playing the steel pans, while the younger children enjoyed nursery rhythms Caribbean-style.
During the day the pupils were taught the basics of reggae, calypso and soca rhythms as well as two, three and four-chord progressions on the steel pans.
