St Paul’s and Downlands excel in GCSE League table

St Paul’s Catholic College in Burgess Hill and Downlands Community School in Hassocks, are the top performing state schools in Mid Sussex in the latest national GCSE results table.
The table shows the proportion of pupils who attained the benchmark standard of five A*-C passes, or equivalent qualifications, including Maths and English GCSEs.
At St Paul’s, one of the country’s top performing state schools, 86 per cent of pupils achieved five or more good GCSEs and at Downlands Community school the percentage was 76 per cent.
Both scores are well above average for the country as a whole.
Other secondary schools in Mid Sussex, Oathall Community College, Oakmeeds Community College and Warden Park also performed well.
