Staplecross Bonfire
Staplecross was ablaze and residents turned out in force to enjoy the village's annual bonfire celebrations on Saturday night.
Members of the Ewhurst and Staplecross Bonfire Society were joined by societies from across Sussex for the grand torchlit procession between Staplecross and Cripps Corner, giant bonfire and spectacular fireworks display.
The night was the culmination of 12 months of hard work by the society, preparing for the big day.
A host of fundraising events, to building the colossal bonfire and torch and faggot making, had all led up to Saturday's annual firework fest.
There was plenty of entertainment on the night, with a child's fancy dress competition, a live band and fire-eater.
And to keep the cold at bay, there was some pipping hot food, including burgers, soup and rolls and hot potatoes, which went down well with the crowd.
Money raised from the event will be distributed to a number of good causes, including Sussex Air Ambulance and St Michael's Hospice.
At the end of the night, locals headed to The Cross Inn or the White Hart at Cripps Corner to raise a glass to yet another successful bonfire event.
