Store says thank you as it closes its doors for the last time
The manager of a store in Burgess Hill has thanked the customers for their support.
Stead and Simpson in Church Road closed at the end of October.
Kim Hurley, manager of the store, said: “Thank you to all the customers who have shopped at Stead and Simpson in the last few years and the support they have given us in the last few weeks.”
A spokesperson for Shoe Zone group, which owns the stores, said: “We can confirm that the store in Burgess Hill is closing down due to poor sales performance and rising costs which make the location unsustainable.
“The decision to close a store is always a difficult one and is not taken lightly.
“The decision is not, in any way, a reflection on the commitment and hard work of our staff.
“Every effort will be made to re-deploy any personnel affected to nearby stores wherever possible.”
