The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for West Sussex with the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy showers this afternoon (Friday July 25).
The area has enjoyed two weeks of high temperatures, with overnight thunderstorms last Wednesday and Thursday.
The warning reads: “Heavy showers or thunderstorms are expected to develop locally this afternoon.
“Some torrential downpours are possible, these accompanied by hail and thunder. Showers and thunderstorms will die out this evening.
“Some surface water flooding is possible in association with these storms. As such, the public should be aware of the potential for disruption to transport.”
