Train disruption after man suffers fit in Balcombe

Rail services were disrupted across West Sussex this morning (Wednesday February 10) after a man collapsed near Balcombe Railway Station.

Trains were delayed between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath after the man collapsed in Handcross Road.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called at 8.50am to reports the man, aged about 50, suffered a fit.

He was reported to be recovering, and was breathing and conscious at the scene.

He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
