Ultimate Frisbie Champions

WHAT started life as a humble pie tin produced by The Frisbie Baking Company of Connecticut has propelled two Oathall Community College students to the pinnacle of European success.

Frisbie pies were sold to New England colleges in the early 20th century and hungry students soon discovered that the empty tins could be tossed and caught.

Frisbie, or Frisbee as it is now known, has moved on since then and Ultimate Frisbee, using a sophisticated plastic version of the pie tin, is a team sport requiring speed and agility.

Milan Tarascus from Lindfield and Dylan Evans-Jackson from Scaynes Hill play the sport for the under 17 Great Britain team, which has just won gold in the European Championships.
