Commuters are still facing delays after a train broke down at Hassock at the start of the rush hour today (Thursday, January 31).

Following an earlier broken down train between Brighton and Haywards Heath northbound lines have now reopened.

Train services running across the whole First Capital Connect (TL) network may be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 mins or revised at short notice. Disruption is expected until 4.30pm today.

Customers are advised that Southern services are taking passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for First Capital Connect (TL) rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

London Underground services and East Midlands Trains will take passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

Buses have been put on to take passengers between Brighton and Haywards Heath in both directions until further notice.

Croydon Tramlink services are conveying passengers between East Croydon and Wimbledon in that direction only until further notice. Arrangements have been made for First Capital Connect (TL) rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

First Capital Connect apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
