VIDEO - Lindfield housing meeting raises numbers fears

Waiting for Video...

Lindfield Preservation Society has highlighted fears that a planning application for 230 new homes in the village could be only the start of up to twice as many properties in the future.

Society vice chairman John Jess told the public meeting at the King Edward Hall that the Wates Developments website revealed the potential scope of a 52 acre site off Gravelye Lane, Lindfield as up to 500 homes.

See what Mr Jessop has to say on this video with comments from Steve Mellor, from Wates, who spoke at the meeting as well.

Lindfield Rural Parish Council will be holding an extraordinary meeting of the council on Monday February 11 at 8pm at the Millennium Village centre, Scaynes Hill, to consider its response to the Wates planning application for 230 dwellings and change of use for the land from agricultural to recreational on the east side of Lindfield.

Also, Lindfield Parish Council’s Planning and Traffic Committee is holding an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday February 12 at 8pm in the King Edward Hall, Lindfield. The meeting has been called to discuss and agree the parish council’s response to the three planning applications submitted by Wates to Mid Sussex District Council for the development of the land at Gravelye Lane and Lyoth Lane. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
